About MeTRIC

MetroHealth is the regional leader of trauma and related research. We have been aggressively growing our research efforts and infrastructure with the goal to expand MeTRIC (MetroHealth Trauma Research Institute of Cleveland) to become a national leader of research.

Trauma research involves integrating many departments. Together, we are all committed to excellence in clinical care, quality, and academic achievement in the management and prevention of trauma, advancing trauma care as a discipline, and disseminating our knowledge for the benefits of patients and society. 

Current Projects Are Related to:

  1. The use of Medical Informatics in the Surgical and Trauma Intensive Care Unit.
  2. Improving the diagnostic work-up and outcomes of infections in the Surgical and Trauma Intensive Care Unit.
  3. Evaluating and improving outcomes after spleen injury.
  4. Evaluating and improving the long-term outcomes after injury.
  5. Studying and reducing recidivism after trauma.
  6. Improving outcomes and the diagnosis of cervical spine injury.
