What We Do

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is the surgical sub-specialty of dentistry.

Services preformed by the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery include:

• Dentoalveolar surgery (removal of impacted teeth)
• Dental implant surgery
• Orthognathic surgery (osteotomies of upper and lower jaws)  
• Bone or soft tissue oral reconstruction surgery
• Repair of facial fractures
• Out-patient intravenous anesthesia
• Benign oral oncologic (tumors and cysts) surgery

Representatives from the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery are involved in the weekly head and neck tumor board and the monthly pediatric cranio-facial defect clinic.
